Witness Training

Many Believers feel led to learn how to share their faith. However, sharing the Gospel can be daunting for some. Leo Lytle Ministries offers help in this area.

When invited by the pastor, we enjoy going to a church to lead a morning or an afternoon session in which Believers come together for training. This works well on a Saturday morning or a Sunday afternoon.

The teaching portion is brief. Leo outlines the process. Valerie adds a bit. The teaching part is usually no more than 30 to 45 minutes long, give or take. The instruction is then followed immediately by practical application. We take the group of students out into the street with a load of “Jesus Is Lord” crosses and allow them to experience sharing the Gospel – or at least listen to us do it!

Our approach is gentle, with no pressure. Students may be as involved as they feel comfortable. Some may just want to hold a “Free Cross” sign and observe. Others may want to jump in and talk to people. The idea is to build confidence and encourage a love for sharing the Good News.

It is important to know here that Leo is a certified teacher-trainer of Evangelism Explosion III (EE-III), as developed by the late Dr. D. James Kennedy. Leo taught this class for more than 30 years. In its traditional form, the EE-III course takes about three hours a week for 13 weeks. Drawing upon that training, combined with years of evangelism experience, Leo has come up with this quick-start way to ease Believers into witnessing. In no way does it replace a longer, more thorough preparation and grounding in Bible study. We heartily encourage people to complete a full-fledged EE-III course. But this method does get Believers off the bench and active for Jesus.
